Assistant Professor Position
Political Studies Division
Center for Economics Research and Teaching (CIDE)
Mexico City

The Division of Political Studies at CIDE invites applications for several tenure-track positions at its campus in Mexico City. The positions are open to any topic and any subfield. Solid methodological skills based on quantitative or qualitative training would be especially attractive. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. While immediate fluency in Spanish is not required, the successful applicants are expected to teach classes in Spanish one year after their appointment.

CIDE is a social-science research institute, teaching graduate and undergraduate programs to select students in small groups. The positions offer a competitive salary with a lower-than-average teaching load. Tenure review is based on academic publications. For more details, feel free to contact the search committee: Benito Nacif ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>), Aldo Ponce ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) and Gilles Serra ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).

Candidates should provide: a short cover letter; a detailed curriculum vitae; a writing sample; and at least two letters of reference. Applications should be sent to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. Review of applications will begin February 23, 2024, and job interviews will start soon thereafter. Later applications are not guaranteed full consideration. Employment would begin no later than August 2024. Successful candidates are required to hold a PhD before starting employment.

Hi!

Thank you for submitting the request!
We have been instructed only to post content relevant to methods in general. We would happily post it if you could edit the content to reflect that. Even simple words like "Candidates with strong methods training are encouraged to apply" would be sufficient (or some mention of quantitative/qualitative/data analysis/ etc.)

I hope this helps! Thank you!

Regards,
Cecilia S
