Dear all, We are excited to announce a pre-APSA short course called “Introduction to Causal Graphs (Directed Acyclic Graphs, DAGs)” on Wednesday, August 30 from 9:00am-5:00pm in the Los Angeles Convention Center. The course will provide an introduction to the use of directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) for causal inference. More information on the APSA pre-conference courses is available here <https://connect.apsanet.org/apsa2023/pre-conference-short-courses/>. This full-day course will include background causal inference material; an introduction to key causal graph concepts; illustrations of causal graphs for canonical research designs; graph-drawing exercises for applied political science research problems; and tutorials on software for analysis of causal graphs. There will be interactive activities and practice with causal graphs throughout the day. You should register for the pre-conference short course when you register for APSA. (Alternatively, if you have already registered, please email [log in to unmask] to add the short course.) The course fee of $25 will cover facilities and equipment.
