Colleagues,

The Political Networks section is soliciting proposals to host the Political Networks Annual Conference and Workshop (PolNet) in future years, including 2024 and beyond. Any school that wishes to host the event should contact Lauren Santoro ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) in order to get information on how to submit an initial expression of interest as soon as possible. The initial submission is non-binding, and more detailed proposals will be developed with input from the Conference Planning Committee and former PolNet hosts. The complete proposal should be submitted to Lauren Santoro by June 1st, 2023.

The Political Networks Conference and Workshop is an annual event first held in 2008, now sponsored by the formal section on Political Networks within the American Political Science Association (APSA). PolNet is intended to help accelerate the advancement of network analyses in Political Science and related disciplines. It is a medium scale event attracting between 100-150 attendees, depending on location. Attendees include graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, faculty members, and industry professionals from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds.

The past two PolNet meetings (University of Iowa in 2022 and Penn State in 2021) have been held completely virtual. Hosts may propose virtual, in-person, or hybrid models. The training workshops have worked particularly well in virtual format, and we strongly recommend that hosts consider holding the workshops virtually.
Please follow up with me if you have any additional questions.

Best,

Lauren
