As chair of the John Williams committee, I would like to post the following 
announcement about the award.

Nominations are now being received for the second annual John T. Williams 
Dissertation Award.

In recognition of John T. Williams' contribution to graduate training, the 
John T. Williams Award has been established for the best dissertation 
proposal in the area of political methodology.  Proposals using 
quantitative or qualitative methods are welcomed. Nominations are due March 
15th and should follow National Science Foundation format guidelines.

Please submit a copy of the proposal and a nomination letter from the chair 
of the thesis committee to the Williams Award Committee:
