Dear Colleagues,

The Department of Political Science at Vanderbilt University is searching
to fill three junior faculty positions. Please circulate this email to any
individuals who might be interested in applying.

Thank you,

*Comparative Politics*

The Department of Political Science at Vanderbilt University invites
applications from outstanding political scientists with a specialization in
comparative politics for at least one tenure-track appointment as Assistant
Professor. We have a wide range of interests that include expertise in
institutions, political economy, behavior, and/or race/ethnic politics.
Candidates able to assist in graduate training in quantitative methods or
formal theory will be especially attractive. To enhance its growing
scholarly reputation, the Department encourages applications from the best
possible candidates, especially those who can contribute to its focus on
substantively important political issues. The appointment will begin Fall
2013. Salary and benefits are highly competitive. The Committee will review
files as they arrive. To assure full consideration, complete applications
should be received by September 15, 2012, but earlier applications are
welcomed and interviews or campus lectures may be scheduled at any time.
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Among the
qualifications required for hire is the Ph.D. in hand or expected by Fall
2013. All applicants should submit a letter of application, curriculum
vitae, evidence of teaching effectiveness (including a teaching statement),
and a writing sample by email to [log in to unmask] Applicants should
also have three letters of reference emailed separately to the same
address. These can be addressed to John G. Geer, Chair.

Vanderbilt is an AA/EO employer. We particularly encourage applications
from minorities and women.
