This is _not_ a self-promotional email, it is in fact a
departmental-promotional email. We are searching for a position this year
that might be of interest to members of this list. The College of Letters
and Science currently has a major emphasis on further growing on our
strength in the quantitative social sciences. The deadline is
October 6, but fortunately the whole application process is now
online. Please see below. -Jeff

The Department of Political Science at the University of California,
Davis, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Positive
Political Theory at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicants may work
in any area of positive theory (game theory, social choice theory,
decision theory, etc.). The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong
substantive focus along with an interest in empirical applications.
Candidates for the position should submit a statement describing their
research interests, sample publications or an article-length writing
sample (internet link is sufficient), and curriculum vitae. Applications
will be acknowledged with an e-mail and information for submission of
letters of recommendation and evidence of teaching ability. A Ph.D, or
evidence that the degree is nearly completed, is required. The anticipated
starting date is July 1, 2007. Applications must be received by October 6,
2006 to guarantee full consideration, but the position will remain open
until filled. Submit materials to: http://psrecruiting.ucdavis.edu. Letter
writers should submit their letters at the same link. If unable to submit
electronically, please contact Wayne A. Fischer ([log in to unmask]).
The University of California, Davis, and the Department of Political
Science are interested in candidates committed to the highest standards of
scholarship and professional activities, and to the development of a
campus climate that supports equality and diversity. The University of
California is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
