Department of Political Science

Assistant Professor, _Public Policy _

The Department of Political Science invites applications for a tenure
track position in public policy at the rank of assistant professor to
begin in August 2007. We are especially interested in candidates with
research and teaching interests in the policy process, political
economy, or a substantive field of public policy. In keeping with its
commitment to diversity, the department especially encourages people of
color and women to apply for this position.

The successful candidate will be able to excel at both research and
teaching. The position involves teaching undergraduate courses as well
as graduate courses in our Ph.D. program, and would support the
department’s effort to develop an undergraduate and graduate
concentration in public policy. The successful candidate will have the
opportunity to participate in research projects being developed in a set
of cross disciplinary research centers recently established at Loyola
University Chicago.

Applicants must register their interest by applying on-line, at
www.careers.luc.edu <http://www.careers.luc.edu/> . In addition, they
should mail a cover letter, a current Curriculum Vitae, one or two
writing samples, teaching evaluations if available, and three letters of
recommendation (sent under separate cover) to the chair of the Search
Committee. Candidates also should include a statement describing their
philosophy of teaching. Consideration of applicants will continue until
the position is filled, but materials must be received by October 20,
2006 to guarantee full consideration.

Applications should be sent to:
