The Department of Political Science at the University of Kansas invites
applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in political
methodology beginning August 18, 2006. We are interested in individuals
who employ sophisticated quantitative or computational methods and who are
committed to innovation in political science methodology. Substantive
field is open. This is a new position, and part of a university-wide
initiative to increase expertise in social science statistics and
computational methods.  The teaching load is two courses per semester. The
successful applicant will have strong potential in teaching, research, and
grant development. Salary is competitive with those at other research
universities. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or advanced ABD with completion
of Ph.D. anticipated by August 2006, teaching and research qualifications
in the field of political methodology, and evidence of the potential for
excellence in research and teaching in methodology at the undergraduate
through Ph.D. levels.   A letter of interest (including explanations of
academic training and current research agenda), vitae, graduate
transcripts, selected publications/papers, teaching portfolio (with
evaluations, or summaries), and three letters of reference should be sent
