TESS wants you to know about a new NSF initiative to support research
pertinent to Hurricane Katrina. This opportunity is available for all
of the scientific disciplines that TESS serves. In addition, TESS
announces that we are willing and able to support Katrina-based
research. TESS offers opportunities for scholars to study important
questions on large national or specialized samples. We offer a quick
review process and a professional staff that is able to field
innovative designs effectively. Whether through the new NSF SGER
initiative,TESS, or other means, please consider applying your
talents to developing greater social and scientific understandings of
recent events.

"In light of the recent hurricane Katrina, the Human and Social
Dynamics priority area (HSD) announces that it will accept Small
Grants for Exploratory Research (SGER) proposals. (For additional
information about SGER proposals, see the Grant Proposal Guide,
Section II.D.1. http://www.nsf.gov/publications/pub_summ.jsp?
ods_key=gpg )

Researchers interested in submitting SGER proposals to HSD should
contact one of the following Program Directors, PRIOR TO SUBMISSION,
to discuss their ideas.

on the link to recent awards at the bottom of this page. Then go to
the top of the page and type 'sger' in the box labeled 'Search Award
For:', check the box 'Restrict to Title Only:', and then click on the
'Search' button."
