* “Policy History Studies: The State and Future of the Field”*

February 2-3, 2024

Tempe Mission Palms – Tempe, AZ

On behalf of the Center for American Studies at Arizona State University
and *Journal of Policy History*, we invite proposals for research to be
presented at a two-day conference titled “Policy History Studies: The State
and Future of the Field.” The conference will include roughly 40
presentations by early-career scholars in history, public policy, political
science, and related disciplines. Participants will receive critical
feedback from senior scholars and other participants. Complementary meals
and receptions will allow all scholars to communicate further and establish
or strengthen professional connections. Lodging at the Tempe Mission Palms
resort (up to two nights) will also be provided for all conference
participants.

Prof. *Richard Bensel* of Cornell University and Prof. *Janet
Box-Steffensmeier* of Ohio State University are confirmed to deliver
plenary talks.

We invite early-career or pre-tenure scholars, including graduate students
and post-doctoral fellows, to submit abstracts (up to 500 words) for
inclusion in the conference program. Scholars may present research papers,
chapters, or book proposals. Abstracts may be submitted via this Google
form (*click here for form* <https://forms.gle/2gZdhFtvTZpauEKq6>) by
September 15, 2023.

We also invite tenured faculty members to serve as discussants. Requests to
serve may be submitted using the same Google form (*click here for form*
<https://forms.gle/2gZdhFtvTZpauEKq6>).

The conference will be held in person at the Tempe Mission Palms resort.
The Center for American Institutions will cover all meals and lodging for
presenters and discussants. Local transportation (between the airport and
resort) will be provided. Participants are responsible for airfare or
ground transportation to Phoenix. There is no conference fee. Questions
regarding the conference may be sent to [log in to unmask]

We are committed to fostering diversity in the field of policy studies and
welcome submissions from individuals who identify with underrepresented
groups.
