Colleagues,

I just wanted to alert you to the fact that Vanderbilt is hiring 3 positions this year at the assistant professor level. Two are in comparative politics and one is in judicial institutions. The exact wording is as below. Thank you for your time and I hope all are doing well!

Best,
Josh

Comparative Politics

The Department of Political Science at Vanderbilt University invites applications from outstanding political scientists with a specialization in comparative politics for at least two tenure-track appointments as Assistant Professors. We have a wide range of interests that include expertise in institutions, political economy, and/or race/ethnic politics. Candidates able to assist in graduate training in quantitative methods or formal theory will be especially attractive. To enhance its growing scholarly reputation, the Department encourages applications from the best possible candidates, especially those who can contribute to its focus on substantively important political issues. The appointment will begin Fall 2012. Salary and benefits are highly competitive. The Committee will begin reviewing files as early as September 15, 2011. To assure full consideration, complete applications should be received by September 30, 2011, but earlier applications are welcomed and interviews or campus lectures may be scheduled at any time. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Among the qualifications required for hire is the Ph.D. in hand or expected by Fall 2012. All applicants should send a letter of application, curriculum vitae, a teaching statement, and a writing sample to the address below. Applicants should also have three letters of reference mailed separately.

Vanderbilt is an AA/EO employer. We particularly encourage applications from minorities and women. Send all application materials to: John G. Geer, Chair, Department of Political Science, Vanderbilt University, PMB 0505, 230 Appleton Place, Nashville TN 37203-5721.
