For a project I am working on that used county data, we relied on David
Leip's E
Election Atlas data, which is nicely organized, but not free ($54 for
1996, but there are package deals for multiple years I think). I should
mention he is quite responsive to data questions, prior to and after the
purchase.

I am working on a project on geographic distribution of partisan support
and primary competition the states.

For this project, I need to find the presidential vote by county for
1996, 2000, and 2004.

I have found 2000 and 2004 on line by state, but can not seem to find
1996.  Does anyone have any pointers as to where to find 1996, or happen
to have the data already compiled?
