The Department of Sociology at University of Toronto Scarborough invites
applications for a full-time tenure-stream appointment in Migration and Ethnic
Diversity. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will
commence on July 1, 2015 or shortly thereafter.

We seek a candidate with expertise in the sociology of migration and/or race and
ethnicity. Our ideal candidate will contribute to the University’s commitment to
equity and diversity. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Sociology by
the date of appointment or shortly thereafter. Candidates also must have a
record of excellence in research as demonstrated by publications in top ranked
and field relevant academic journals, and exhibit experience and excellence in
teaching. The candidate must have the ability to develop an independently
funded research program. Salary is commensurate with qualification and
experience.

The appointment is at the University of Toronto Scarborough, which is a
research-intensive institution with an interdisciplinary commitment, a
multicultural student body, and a modern campus. The University offers the
opportunity to conduct research, teach, and live in one of the most diverse
cities in the world. The University also offers opportunities to work in a
range of collaborative programs and centres of research. Successful candidates
will teach in the undergraduate program at the University of Toronto
Scarborough. They will also be a member of the tri-campus Graduate Department
of Sociology at the University of Toronto and will be expected to teach in the
graduate program and supervise graduate students.
