Dear PolMeth colleagues - please see below a call for paper for ESOC annual conference. We look forward for your submissions.

The Empirical Studies of Conflict Project (ESOC) is holding its Annual Meeting October 19-20, 2023 in Washington D.C. Co-sponsors are The Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA), Princeton University School of Public and International Affairs, and the UC Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation (IGCC). Dr. Guy Grossman and Dr. Anouk S. Rigterink are Annual Meeting program chairs.

We invite submissions of papers involving rigorous and cutting-edge work on conflict, broadly defined, and understood to include e.g., civil conflict, national security, (counter)terrorism and crime. We are especially interested in papers on the following topics: climate change, natural resources and conflict; forced migration and human trafficking; misinformation; new military technology (including Artificial Intelligence); non-military means of conflict resolution (including sanctions); third-party state support or involvement in conflict; the intersection of gender and conflict; and policing and crime. However, papers on other topics will be given full consideration.

Submission Procedure:

Please submit the following information online via Google Form at https://forms.gle/qvqmsuC3mNCqoCCo8 :

  *   Paper title
  *   Author information
  * Abstract (approximately 500 words) and link to paper (if applicable)
  * Link to your webpage (optional)

Deadline for submission is 15 June 2023.

Notification of Acceptance: You will be notified by approximately 31 July if your paper is selected for presentation at the meeting in Washington DC on 19-20 October. Requests for travel reimbursement will be offered to those whose papers are accepted on a case-by-case basis.

After Acceptance: selected authors will be expected to submit a full paper by October 9, 2023.

Contact Information: If you have any questions about accessing the Google Form, you may contact Kristen DeCaires Gall at [log in to unmask]

Thanks!

Guy Grossman
