 Wake Forest University’s Department of Politics and International Affairs
seeks applications for a Postdoctoral Teacher-Scholar in qualitative and/or
quantitative political methodology to start July 1, 2023. The position is
open with respect to substantive specialization. The initial term of the
appointment is one year, with the possibility of renewal.

*Job Description:*

We invite applications from scholars of Politics, International Relations,
and Government with expertise in political methodology. We would especially
welcome candidates with both methodological expertise and a substantive
research agenda that adds to and complements those already represented in
the department. A Ph.D. or ABD status in Political Science or a closely
related field is required. More information about the department is

We seek highly qualified candidates who can teach a total of four courses
per academic year, at least two of which are introductory courses in
undergraduate research methods. Candidates will also have opportunities to
develop and teach courses that connect with their substantive research
agendas and/or advanced undergraduate research methods courses. Compelling
applicants will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and
mentoring undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds, including
international students, first generation students, and those who identify
as members of historically marginalized communities. The teaching load of
this position is designed to support a high level of research activity; the
successful applicant will demonstrate an ability and commitment to produce
knowledge by publishing impactful peer-reviewed scholarship during the term
of their appointment. The department will particularly value candidates
whose research activities bring new strengths to the department and/or
would produce fruitful collaborations within it.
