Dear Research Community,

I’m excited to share this unique opportunity to come help me lead
CivicPulse as we continue to grow. If you’re interested in applying, you
can email me your resume and cover letter (details below).

Thanks,

Nathan Lee

Founder and Managing Director, CivicPulse
PhD, Political Science, Stanford University

**About CivicPulse**

CivicPulse is a fast-growing nonprofit startup dedicated to bridging the
gap between academic research and local and state government. We do this
both through representative surveys of public officials as well as through
administrative data collection on key areas of interest to both researcher
and practitioner communities.

Our data has been used in peer-reviewed publications such as the
Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Journal of
Political Science, and the American Political Science Review, and our
findings have been highlighted in media outlets such as the New York Times,
the Washington Post, and NPR.

**About the Position**

As a six-person team, we all inevitably wear many hats. That said,
here are *five
key responsibilities* of the job as it is currently envisioned:

   - Work closely with Founder and Managing Director to shape CivicPulse’s
   expanding vision
   - Meet with new academic clients and partners to brainstorm and develop
   research ideas
   - Cultivate new relationships with foundations, research centers, and
   government associations
   - Lead the development, design, and execution of new data initiatives
   and research reports
   - Present CivicPulse research at both academic and practitioner
   conferences

Our offices are headquartered in the highly underrated city of Rochester,
New York—a city full of beautiful parks, waterfalls, breweries, and
history. The job is on-site, but with a flexible start date. Final round
interviews would include a fly-out to meet the team.

*Pay Range:* $80,000 - $110,000. This represents the present low and high
end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on
various factors, including but not limited to experience.

**Requirements**

- Quantitative social science PhD or equivalent professional
experience

- Creative yet systematic thinker

- Growth mindset, and down-to-earth

- Great writer and communicator

- Research experience in state and local government (preferred but
not required)

- Survey research experience (preferred but not required)

- Startup experience (preferred but not required)

**Timeline**

Applications will be reviewed as received and continue until the position
is filled.

**How to Apply**

Please email your resume and cover letter to the Managing Director, Nathan
Lee, [log in to unmask] with the email subject line, “Research
