The European Consortium for Political Research is pleased to announce its second
Graduate Conference, which will take place at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona
from 25-27 August 2008. All panels, round tables, lectures and registration will
be located at the Bellaterra campus, and campus accommodation will be available
for all participants. This is an excellent opportunity for graduate students to
come together from all over Europe to share their work and experience by presenting
papers or by simply observing, and as with all ECPR conferences, there will be a
 number of social events.

The keynote lecture will be delivered by Professor Fred Halliday of the London School
of Economics and Political Science. The conference format will consist of open and
themed panels, with the topics covered being as broad as possible. There will also
be a number of roundtables of invited speakers on such issues as getting published
and career development.

Participants may either propose a paper or, along with up to 5 other paper givers
from at least two ECPR institutions located in different countries, an entire panel.
Panels and papers are encouraged from across the whole spectrum of political science:
from political theory and international relations to comparative government, public
administration and political sociology.

The academic convenors of the conference are Eileen Connolly (Dublin City University),
Joaquim Molins (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) and Jennifer Sands (University
of Leeds).
