The 2006 APSA Annual Meeting's Working Group on Automated Content Analysis
and Computer Annotation

When: 2, 2-hour sessions during the 2006 APSA Annual Meeting (August 29,
2006 - September 2, 2006)
Where: Philadelphia, PA USA
More Information: http://www.apsanet.org/section_584.cfm

Description: Automated content analysis in political science and digital
government research is receiving increasing attention because it facilitates
productivity gains for research teams attempting to extract information from
a corpus. This working group will review and discuss recent literature in
automated content analysis, including articles published in journals from
related disciplines. The coordinator encourages panel members to contribute
short, original papers on success stories and application issues for review
by the panel.

The workshop is supported by the Political Methodology subgroup and it is
capped at 20 participants. APSA provides a certificate at the end to
certify that participants had a substantive professional development
experience and attendance can be used to justify travel funding through the
regular APSA process.

More Information and sign-up can be found at
http://www.apsanet.org/section_584.cfm. Feel free to email or phone me with
questions.

P.S. In my zeal to recruit leading researchers in this area for a common
discussion, the working group is already half-filled. So a quick sign-up
for interested parties is encouraged.
