Ah, the sharp-stick-in-the-eye to the part-time user:  "It comes with a
user-friedly syntax layer called TikZ."

I made the line art for this LaTeX document in xfig:

Now that LyX can gobble in an xfig file without pre-processing, it is
very convenient.
