I would like to encourage members to apply for a tenure-track position in
American political institutions at the University of Arizona; the full text of
the ad announcement is listed below.  I would also be happy to answer any

The University of Arizona invites applications for a tenure-track position as
Assistant Professor in American politics specializing in political institutions
to begin August 2007, contingent upon availability of funding. Candidates with
research interests in Congress and who have strong methodological skills are
especially encouraged to apply. We seek an individual with demonstrated
excellence in teaching, a strong commitment to research, and clear promise of
scholarly productivity and grant/fellowship support. The university values
those who are able to work with diverse students and colleagues, and who have
experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives. A
Ph.D. in political science is expected by date of hire. An on-line application,
including a letter of interest, Curriculum Vitae, writing samples and statement
of research and teaching interests, must be completed at www.hr.arizona.edu,
with copies of teaching portfolio (including teaching evaluations) and three
letters of reference mailed to Professor Jan Leighley, Department of Political
Science, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ 85721-0027. Applications will be
accepted until the position is filled with review to begin on October 2, 2006.
