Assistant Professor in American Politics

The Department of Political Science at the University of Illinois at
Chicago invites applications for the position of tenure track Assistant
Professor in American politics beginning fall 2007.  The field of
specialization within American politics is open and we welcome candidates
with additional skills and specializations such as methodology or urban
politics. We seek candidates with Ph.D. in hand or very near completion, a
strong research agenda, commitment to teaching, broad theoretical interests
and appropriate research and methodological skills.  Evidence of the
candidate's research performance or promise and appropriate teaching skills
should be provided.  In addition to maintaining an ongoing research
program, faculty members are expected to teach two courses per semester at
the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. .  Women and members of minority
groups are especially encouraged to apply.  Applications should include the
candidate's research and teaching interests, curriculum vitae, three
letters of recommendation, and copies of publications or papers.  For full
