Hi All-

The Center for C-SPAN Scholarship and Engagement (CCSE) at Purdue University will be hosting (online) a great talk by Dr. Gloria Gennaro (University College, London) next Wednesday (February 8th) at 12:30pm ET. She is presenting as part of our Video Research Workshop series which highlights research about C-SPAN and shows scholars new ways to use audio and video as data.

In her paper (co-authored with Elliot Ash), she uses variation in C-SPAN channel placement and a difference-in-differences design to examine how C-SPAN has impacted the tone of floor debates (e.g., more or less emotive), among other things. I have read the paper and it is quite good, so I am very much looking forward to the talk.
