Dear Colleagues,

I'm writing to solicit and encourage nominations for the Society for
Political Methodology's Excellence in Mentoring Award.

This award honors members of the Society for Political Methodology who have
demonstrated an outstanding commitment to mentoring and advising graduate
and/or undergraduate students and, in particular, those from
underrepresented groups. Previous recipients of this award include Gary
King, Thomas Carsey, R. Michael Alvarez, Janet Box-Steffensmeier, Lonna Rae
Atkeson, Jonathan Kropko, Frederick Boehmke, and Matthew Lebo.

In order to make a timely decision, please send your nominations by May
15th. Please send nominations to all members of the committee -- David
Darmofal ([log in to unmask]), Amber Boydstun ([log in to unmask]), and
Guillermo Rosas ([log in to unmask]). Also, please feel free to contact us
with any questions.

Stronger nominations will be those that directly address the Award
criteria, specifying the nominee's commitment to mentoring students and
particularly those from underrepresented groups.

This is a nice opportunity to acknowledge the mentors out there who are
helping shape the next generation of methods scholars.

Thank you in advance for your nominations.

Dave
