The Department of Political Science & International Relations at Siena
College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the
area of American Political Institutions at the Assistant Professor level to
begin in the Fall of 2023. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Political
Science or a related discipline by the time of appointment.

As a liberal arts institution, we seek candidates with a demonstrated
commitment to teaching excellence. The successful candidate will teach a
regular three course load each semester, with primary responsibility for
courses in American Political Institutions, such as Congress, The
Presidency, and Political Parties. The position will also contribute to our
research methods sequence, which covers both quantitative and qualitative
research methods. We encourage applications from candidates with research
and teaching interests in race & ethnic politics, public administration, or
political representation.

Located in Loudonville, New York-just 10 minutes from the state capital of
Albany, the Siena experience is built for a new generation of leaders eager
to create a more just, peaceful and humane world. Each year, more than
3,000 Saints are empowered through a transformative journey of
intellectual, spiritual and personal discovery. The Education for a Lifetime
is made possible through a workforce of highly qualified and competent
faculty, administrators and staff committed to fulfilling the Siena mission.

Siena College is committed to attracting, supporting, and retaining a
diverse faculty. We actively encourage applications from women, minorities,
non-US citizens, members of the LGBTQ+ community, persons with
disabilities, veterans, and others from under-represented groups who may
make a positive contribution to the diversification of ideas and
perspectives.

Siena College is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants
will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color,
religion, sex, sexual orientation or gender identity, national origin,
disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic
protected by law.

If a foreign national applicant is selected for a qualifying position, the
College will sponsor and prepare petitions with the U.S. Citizenship and
Immigration Services Bureau of the Department of Homeland Security
(“USCIS”) to obtain H-1B status in the United States, which will allow them
to work at the College for a specified period of time. Only specialty
occupations will qualify for H-1B status under applicable federal law.
Application Procedure: Applications should include a cover letter, a
curriculum vita, a description of teaching philosophy that includes
examples of how you address diversity and inclusion in the classroom, and
contact information for three references. Finalists will be required to
submit evidence of teaching effectiveness (including syllabi and teaching
evaluations) and three letters of recommendation. Please submit your
application through the Interview Exchange portal used by Siena College
<https://siena.interviewexchange.com/jobofferdetails.jsp?JOBID=150089>.
Inquiries may be addressed to Dr. Daniel Lewis at [log in to unmask] Review
of applications will begin September 15, 2022 and will continue until the
