Extended deadline to submit your paper proposal/s for the IMEBESS 2023 – 15th February!

Professors Joana Pais and Sandra Maximiano (Lisbon School of Economics and Management) along with the European Political Science Association are pleased to announce the Seventh International Meeting on Experimental and Behavioural Social Sciences (IMEBESS) at the Lisbon School of Economics and Management, Lisbon, Portugal, on 18 - 20 May 2023.

IMEBESS aims to bring together researchers in all areas of the social sciences who are interested in behavioural research broadly defined. We are particularly interested in encouraging the participation of the very diverse communities of social science with an interest in experimental and behavioural research, including, for example, anthropology, computational social sciences, economics, political science, psychology, and sociology.

IMEBESS 2023 is also committed to ensuring the active participation of scholars from the Global South. IMEBESS 2023 will be providing travel and accommodation support for a limited numbers of scholars from the Global South – details on the subvention will be circulated and announced shortly on the IMEBESS 2023 web page.

A two-day pre-conference workshop – Methodological Challenges of Meta Analysis in the Social Sciences -- is scheduled for 16-17 May 2023 just prior to the main IMEBESS Conference. Registered attendees to the IMEBESS 2023 conference are eligible to attend the workshop.

We are delighted to announce that the current line-up of guest speakers include:

Abigail Barr (University of Nottingham)

Ryan Enos (Harvard University)

Alexander Cappelen (Norwegian School of Economics NHH)

The organising committee includes the following members.

Ray Duch (University of Oxford)

Joana Pais (Lisbon School of Economics and Management)

Sandra Marisa Santas Noites Maximiano (Lisbon School of Economics and Management)

Jordi Brandts (Institute for Economic Analysis (CSIC))

Diego Gambetta (Collegio Carlo Alberto)

Laura Fortunato (University of Oxford)

Enrique Fatas (University of Pennsylvania)

Klarita Gërxhani (European University Institute)

Wojtek Przepiorka (Utrecht University)

Astrid Hopfensitz (Lyon University)

Sonja Vogt (University of Lausanne).

Both theoretical and empirical papers on topics in all areas of the social sciences, such as experimental and anthropology, behavioural economics, computational social science, sociology, political science, and psychology are encouraged.

The deadline for submitting abstracts is 15 February 2023. Authors will receive notification of acceptance by 01 March 2023.

Further information and instructions for submissions are available on the conference web site: http://imebess.org/
