https://jobs.lse.ac.uk/Vacancies/W/6263/0/307209/15539/lse-fellow-in-political-science-and-public-policy

Salary for a LSE Fellow is from £36,647 to £44,140 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £47,456 pa inclusive of London allowance.

This is a fixed term appointment until 31 August 2022 in the first instance.

The LSE School of Public Policy equips students with the skills and ideas to transform people and societies. We are an international community where ideas and practice meet, creating professionals with the ability to analyse, understand and resolve the challenges of contemporary governance.

We are recruiting a LSE Fellow to contribute to the postgraduate teaching of the School of Public Policy in the field of political science for policy-making.

Teaching comprises seminars for courses PP401 and PP478 plus associated academic mentoring and marking duties. The post-holder will require a very good knowledge of empirical political science and its application to policy-making. Candidates must have completed, or have evidence of significant progress towards completing, a PhD in the field of empirical political science related to public policy. Candidates must have a developing research record in this field, excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage students through the compelling application of political science applied to policy-making. Candidates must also be able to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment for our high-calibre, high fee-paying, students.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent training and development opportunities.

For further information about the post, please see the how to apply document, job description and the person specification.

The role is available from 1 September 2021 and the post-holder would start no later than 11 January 2022. Applications to fill this post part-time are welcome (including through a job share) from applicants that currently have the right to work in UK, especially where this would allow the post-holder time to complete their PhD studies.

For technical queries with the online system, please use the “contact us” links at the bottom of the LSE Jobs page. For queries about the role, please email [log in to unmask]

The closing date for receipt of applications is Sunday 1st August 2021 (23.59 UK time). Regrettably, we are unable to accept any late applications.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 5th August or Friday 6th August 2021.

An LSE Fellowship is intended to be an entry route to an academic career and is deemed by the School to be a career development position. It is essentially a post-Doc position with which the LSE attracts aspiring and talented early stage academics who are not yet ready to take on career track academic positions. As such, applicants who have already been employed as a LSE Fellow for three years in total are not eligible to apply. If you have any queries about this please contact the HR Division.
