Georgetown University.  As part of your appointment with MSB, you will
contribute to all academic computing and programming activities for the
Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) in the McDonough School
of Business.  At McCourt, you will assist in course planning,
participate in our data science community and in advising students both

(DSPP) program,

The appointment is for a term of three academic years, effective Sept.
1, 2020 and ending August 31, 2023.

You will teach courses related to programming and data management in
addition to advising student teams on the Capstone courses in the MSBA
program.  For McCourt, most instruction will be in person.  For MSB,
most instruction will be online.

Your appointment to the faculty carries with it the obligation to
provide instruction and to contribute to the intellectual life of the
both the McCourt School and the McDonough School of Business. You will
be assigned 15 credits over the year at a 100% FTE, with scheduling,
level, subject matter, and enrollment being determined by the Dean’s

the MSBA program’s academic integrity, student academic engagement,
collaborating with faculty colleagues to develop asynchronous course
material and other items requested by the MSBA Director.
Qualifications

Candidates should have a substantive background and interest in
Programming (e.g., R, Python), including topics such as Relational and
Non-Relational Databases, Data Engineering and Management, Big Data
infrastructure, high-performance computing, spatial data, text-as-data
and machine learning.

Candidates should also have active research interests, ideally at the
intersection of policy and business, but at least in one of the two fields.

Successful candidates will contribute to scholarly teaching, student
advising and faculty support in the MSBA program and overall growth of
the McDonough School of Business in the areas of computing and
information technology.

An MS in a technical field (e.g., computer science, engineering,
statistics, data science, or any related data-driven discipline) with
extensive experience in R and Python programming is required. A PhD
degree is preferred. Candidates with industry and applied experience are
strongly encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will teach programming
and big data courses and will serve in an advisory role for the students
and faculty in the MSBA and DSPP programs.
Application Instructions

To assure full consideration, applications, including cover letter,
curriculum vitae, and teaching evaluations should be submitted to
