The Stanford Internet Observatory and the Trust and Safety Foundation are
hosting the first annual Trust and Safety Research Conference at Stanford
from Sept. 29-30, 2022. The trust and safety field is the study of how the
internet is abused to cause human harm, and includes topics such as
disinformation and misinformation, hate speech, extremism, incitement to
violence, child safety, and self harm content. The conference will include
researchers from academia, industry, civil society, and government, and
there will be many opportunities for cross-professional networking.
The Journal of Online Trust and Safety will publish a peer-reviewed
conference proceedings a week before this event. The submission deadline is
