Dear all,

On behalf of Thomas König I would like to draw your attention to the following call for applications:

The project “The domestic foundation of governmental preferences over European politics” hosted at the Collaborative Research Center (SFB 884) "Political Economy of Reforms" at the University of Mannheim is looking as soon as possible for a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Political Science with strong background in Quantitative Methods.

The project investigates how domestic forces, such as the public and political parties, shape governmental preferences in EU decision-making processes. More recently, we gathered experimental survey data within the member states for the study of public attitudes toward institutional design, affective polarization and the emergence of a European identity.

The postdoc is expected to examine existing data and to actively participate in writing project papers and presenting research results in a full time position. Strong quantitative methods skills are essential, while a specialization in survey experiments is an advantage.

The mission of the interdisciplinary Research Center (SFB 884) on the Political Economy of Reforms is to gain new insights into the success and failure of political reforms in democracies. It draws together researchers in economics, political science, sociology, and statistics at the University of Mannheim. The English-speaking environment of the SFB offers an excellent opportunity to work in a team with a strong focus on quantitative research and international collaboration. The Center is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). More information about the Center is available here: http://re <http://re/>forms.uni-mannheim.de/ <http://forms.uni-mannheim.de/>

The successful applicant should hold a doctoral degree in political science or relevant discipline. The position will be awarded as soon as possible. Funding is available until December 31, 2021. Salary is commensurate with experience and is according to public pay scheme TV-L E13.

Applications should be submitted in English and include a CV, a list of publications, and a letter of motivation, outlining the substantive research agenda of the candidate. As an equal opportunity employer, the University of Mannheim particularly encourages appli- cations from women and persons with disabilities.

Please send your application as soon as possible to [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]>. or Sonderforschungsbereich 884 – Universität Mannheim B6, 30-32 68131 Mannheim.
