Hi Weiwen,

Dan Butler and I have a short article in PA (https://doi.org/10.1017/pan.2016.15) that uses a total of 123 different first name/last name combinations (35 putatively black names, 42 Latino, 46 white). We reanalyze one of Dan's earlier experiments and find support for the assumption that it really is race (and not socioeconomics or party ID) that seems to be driving differences in response rates. The Appendix has the full list of aliases.

I hope this helps, but please feel free to get in touch if you have any additional questions.

Best,
Jonathan

Subject: Distinctively black names and white names

Dear colleagues,

Does anyone have a database of distinctively Black names and White names? I
am aware of Levitt and Fryer (2004), which gives examples such as DeShawn
and Tyrone for black names, but I need a larger set of names (preferably
around 50 each).

Regards
