Colleagues,

We would like to cordially invite you to participate in a pre-conference on state political institutions, with an emphasis on the executive, before the American Political Science Association meeting on August 27, 2014. The conference is hosted by Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Houston and will be held at Washington University’s Center in Washington, DC (located in DuPont Circle, walking distance to the conference hotels).

The range of work is open, so long as it pertains in some way to state institutional politics. Panel participants will present work in progress (not necessarily their APSA papers) and get extended feedback from participants. Lunch and snacks will be provided, intermixed between panels, concluding with a happy hour.

If you are interested in participating, either as a panelist, discussant or observer, please respond to this email (or email either Jon or Brandon) and we will be in contact with further details.

We also anticipate being able to offer $200 travel stipends to up to two graduate students to attend (pending funding). Applicants for the graduate student travel stipend should email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> by July 15 and include a short (one paragraph) statement of purpose, a CV and a copy of the paper they plan to present.

Sincerely,

Jon Rogowski ([log in to unmask])
Brandon Rottinghaus ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>)
