Job Opening, Department of Sociology, The Ohio State University
Position: Globalization and Social Change
Rank: Assistant Professor

Ohio State University. The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure track position in the fields of globalization and social change, broadly defined, at the Assistant Professor level to commence Fall 2015. We seek candidates who will broaden or strengthen our existing repertoire of methodological expertise. We encourage applications from candidates who will add to our existing strengths in inequality or political sociology, and contribute to building links to interdisciplinary research centers and programs at the university. Furthermore, we seek candidates who will maintain vigorous research programs, actively seek external funding, contribute to both graduate and undergraduate teaching, and provide service to the department and the profession.

Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Sociology, or a related field, by the start of employment, and to present evidence of excellence in teaching and research. Applicants should submit a signed cover letter, curriculum vitae, selected written work, and three signed letters of recommendation (on official letterhead) through Academic Jobs Online at: http://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/4417. Review of applications will begin on October 1, 2014, so we recommend submission prior to that date. However, applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled. Inquiries may be directed to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

The Ohio State University is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation or identity, national origin, disability status, or protected veteran status.
