Colleagues,

I would like to invite you all to think about nominating deserving young methodologists for the Society for Political Methodology's 2015 Emerging Scholar Award. This award is designed to honor a young researcher who is making notable contributions to the field of political methodology within 10 years of their PhD and past winners include Kosuke Imai (2011), Jake Bowers (2012), Luke Keele (2013), and Jens Hainmueller (2014).

We are looking forward to adding to this list of deserving scholars and celebrating the accomplishments of others.

So, if you see a deserving candidate while at the MPSA, or if you wish to get away from grading and you wish to use the time to help recognize a colleague, please let me or any member of the Award Committee — Adam Berinsky, Jens Hainmueller, and Jasjeet Sekhon — know your thoughts as to who you think is deserving of this award. A detailed nomination is certainly not needed, although a few sentences outlining the merit of the nomination in your opinion would certainly be appreciated. Self-nominations are also welcomed.

The deadline for nominations is May 5th.

Best,

Josh
