While they won't cover the entirety of your years of interest, the
following might help you get started as they will provide coverage
back to 1969/1970:

There are multiple data files here, some at the state level and some
at the county level, and with differing years of coverage. As a rule
of thumb, the more years of coverage there are, the less detailed the
race classifications are.
