CLIR postdoctoral associate job posting
Brandeis University Library and Technology Services (LTS) offers a one-year
Postdoctoral Associate position for a social science scholar with
substantial demonstrated expertise in quantitative and qualitative research
methods. The Associate will design programs and services that support
analysis and visual presentation of data. He or she will report to the
Associate Director for Academic Technology and also work closely with the
Director for Academic Support and User Services.
The Associate should possess a PhD in a social science discipline as well
as extensive demonstrated expertise in quantitative and qualitative data
analysis. A background in library science is not required. The primary
responsibility of the Associate will be to establish a program of support
for quantitative and qualitative analysis that serves both instructional
and research efforts at the University. Significant consultation with
faculty, students, and other stakeholders will be needed to ensure that the
program meets the academic community’s needs and remains sustainable in the
future. The Fellow will be free to pursue an independent research agenda
approximately one day per week and may assist in teaching social science
methods courses.
Salary: $60,000 (plus benefits)
Responsibilities
-
Conceptualize and plan a program for library and IT professionals to
consult with researchers on quantitative and qualitative methods, tools,
and analytics.

opportunities that advance the social science research agenda.
-
Lead the planning and implementation of cutting-edge academic technology

With a new Chief Information Officer and an emerging new university
strategic plan, Library and Technology Services is in an exciting period of
growth and change. LTS is responsible for supporting almost everything that
faculty, staff, and students do with information and technology. This makes
Brandeis an unusually rich environment for a postdoctoral fellow who is
interested in designing new configurations of expertise and service in an
environment where library and IT are merged.
This position will be filled as part of the Council on Library and
Information Resources (CLIR) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. Please apply
via CLIR’s online application system. Information about the application
