Texas A&M University

Department of Political Science

American Politics

The Department of Political Science at Texas A&M University seeks a leading
senior scholar with an ambitious theoretical agenda and a national
reputation in American politics to appoint at the rank of full professor.
This hire is the first step in a multi-year plan to sustain and build the
Department's traditional strength in the field of American politics. Beyond
a strong record of research, this scholar will be committed to leadership at
all levels of the discipline, to excellent graduate and undergraduate
teaching, and to fostering the core identity of political science at Texas
A&M as a STEM discipline. The area of specialization in the field of
American politics is open, but the most competitive candidates will have
strong theoretical interests and a strong background in quantitative,
formal-theoretic, and/or experimental methodology.

Applicants should send a letter of interest and a curriculum vitae. We are
especially interested in candidates who would increase the Department's
gender, racial and ethnic diversity. Review of applications begins on
October 15 and will continue until the position is filled. Texas A&M is an
AA/EEO university and is deeply committed to diversity. The Department of
Political Science at Texas A&M University is a doctoral-level department
with an active research-oriented faculty. The starting date for the position
is Fall 2012. Please send application materials to: James R. Rogers, Head,
