TEMPORARY POSITION IN Comparative Politics and International Relations


The Department of Political Science at Kutztown University invites  
applications for a full-time temporary position beginning in August  
2008 in Comparative Politics.  At the undergraduate level, the  
selected candidate will be expected to teach introduction to  
comparative politics and upper-division courses in his or her areas  
of specialization.  The ideal candidate would also be able to teach  
introductory American Politics or International Relations courses.   
The teaching load is 12 s.h. each semester.  A Ph.D. in political  
science by the time of appointment is strongly preferred, although  
ABD candidates will be considered.  One to three years of college  
teaching, a successful interview, and demonstration of teaching  
ability are requisite qualifications.  The Political Science  
Department has eight full time faculty who serve undergraduate majors  
and minors and graduate students in the Master of Public  
Administration Program.  Applicants should send a letter of interest,  
vitae, teaching evaluations, undergraduate and graduate transcripts,  
and three letters of reference to Dr. John Riley, Chair of Search  
Committee, Department of Political Science, Kutztown University,  
Kutztown, PA  19530.  Applications will be accepted until the  
position is filled.  The University is located in the Borough of  
Kutztown in a charming rural setting that is within twenty minutes  
driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem  
and Reading, and within sixty minutes of the Philadelphia  
metropolitan area.  The university is searching for employees who  
have extensive experience with diverse populations, especially  
African American and Latino populations represented in these
