    Doctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Field of Democratic Institutions


    The Center for the Study of Democracy at Leuphana University Lüneburg 
    (www.leuphana.de/zdemo) focuses on the development of democratic structures and processes in 
    politics and society, economics and the environment. The Center regularly organises national and 
    international meetings, workshops and courses on research methods and data analysis.

    The Center for the Study of Democracy offers two fellowships as of 1 October 2008.

    Doctoral Fellowship
    3 year fellowship (EUR  1300,-- / month)
    The applicants´ dissertation topic should be related to one of the research areas of the Center, 
    especially to the field of democratic institutions.
    The candidates should hold a Master´s degree (or equivalent) in political science, administrative 
    science, sociology, or political economy. Applicants should have an interest in and / or experience 
    with empirical methods.
    The successful candidate is required to direct one undergraduate tutorial in Political Science (up 
    to a maximum of 10 h / week).

    Postdoctoral Fellowship
    2 year fellowship (EUR  2000,-- / month)
    The applicants´ research topic should be related to one of the research areas of the Center, 
    especially to the field of democratic institutions.
    The candidates should hold a Doctorate (or equivalent) in political science, administrative 
    science, sociology, or political economy. Applicants should have an interest in and / or experience 
    with empirical methods.
    The successful candidate is required to direct the Center´s tutorial program for undergraduate 
    students in Political Science (up to a maximum of 10 h / week).
