Announcing the availability of Public Policy Mood through 2022. The data series for public policy mood are now available at the link below. The spreadsheet file includes annual, biennial, and quarterly estimates along with graphics for each. Mood in 2022 was near its most liberal extreme, the most extreme case being 2020. The measure is estimated from traditional scope of government issue survey data. No abortion or other culture wars items are included in the input data. The more general pattern is that all years in the period beginning with the Trump election show considerably stronger liberal sentiment than the seven decade norm. Note: There was no official release of estimates through 2020 because Covid induced problems prevented the release of the General Social Survey of that year. https://stimson.web.unc.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/9919/2023/07/Mood5222.xlsx Jim Stimson [log in to unmask] ************************************************************** Political Methodology E-Mail List Editors: Yuan (Cecilia) Sui and Gechun Lin <[log in to unmask]> ************************************************************** Send messages to [log in to unmask] To join the list, cancel your subscription, or modify your subscription settings visit: https://www.cambridge.org/core/membership/spm/mailing-list **************************************************************
