Hi all,

The Political Science Department of Hobart and William Smith is searching for a one-year VAP (2-3 course load, non-tenure track) to start in the Fall 2017.  The job ad is below. Review of applications will begin immediately.

"VISTING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (INTERNATIONAL RELATION  OR AMERICAN POLITICS) -DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE

The Department of Political Science invites applications for a one year position in International Relations or American politics at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2017; Ph.D. preferred, advanced ABD considered. We are particularly interested in candidates who are qualified to teach a course on quantitative methods. The ideal candidate also will be able to teach introductory classes in International Relations and/or American Politics.

The Department values intellectual diversity and supports a wide range of critical and theoretical approaches that help bring people together across subfields as they address questions of power of ever-pressing importance. The Department also supports inter-disciplinarity in teaching and research in keeping with the Colleges' longstanding emphasis on interdisciplinary liberal arts education. We encourage the creative development of new questions, lines of inquiry, and vectors of critique.
