I am pleased to share with you an internship opportunity<https://eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Funitedkingdom.iom.int%2Fsites%2Fg%2Ffiles%2Ftmzbdl1381%2Ffiles%2Fdtm-internship-haiti-tors.pdf&data=04%7C01%7Cm.harukawa%40ucl.ac.uk%7C940905224e5f4f891b0808da1e24f44d%7C1faf88fea9984c5b93c9210a11d9a5c2%7C0%7C0%7C637855441580756063%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=Dh%2FSON3POOTX1j8SropzP2uUnJyqx3pKpWfGahhk4Ls%3D&reserved=0> with the International Organization for Migration’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) unit. DTM gathers, analyzes, and disseminates data on the mobility, vulnerabilities, and needs of displaced and migrant populations in humanitarian emergencies across the world. The position will be based in the Analytics, Knowledge and Output Quality unit in London, with a possibility to work remotely, but I will be co-managing the intern as they will be focused on the analysis of data on Haiti. Candidates should have good quantitative research skills and a knowledge of R.

The internship has a duration of six months conditional on a performance evaluation after the first three months. A contribution towards living costs will be provided by IOM at a rate dependent on the candidate’s qualifications. Interested candidates should submit their updated CV and cover letter (in PDF format and only one file with their name and surname) to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> adding “DTM Analysis and Reporting - Haiti” in the subject line, no later than Thursday 28th of April 2022.

This is a good opportunity for students interested in the work of an international humanitarian organization and in applying their data skills to pressing real-world issues. There are good opportunities for performing interns to continue working for IOM in a variety of capacities – I personally joined IOM through a similar internship.

Best,

Andrea
