Applications are invited for one 1-year post-doctoral position in the
University of Miami Department of Political Science. The applicant
will support a collaborative research project: “Multi-Disciplinary
Analyses of the Nature and Spread of Unsubstantiated Information
Online” (National Science Foundation, Secure and Trustworthy
Cyberspace Program) by assisting in all aspects of research, including
research design, survey design, analysis of survey data, presentation
of results, and writing-up and submitting research studies.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in political science or related field
with a strong motivation for advancing our understanding of the causes
and consequences of false narratives as well as strong quantitative
data analysis skills. While housed in the Department of Political
Science, the applicant will be prepared to collaborate with team
members in other disciplines, including computer science, engineering,
communications, English, and psychology. Applicants with survey
research training and strong coding skills (e.g., R, Stata, Python)
are preferred.
