Colleagues,

This email serves as a call for nominations for the

*Society for Political Methodology Statistical Software Award.*

The award recognizes "individual(s) for developing statistical software that
makes a significant research contribution."

Nominations should include a brief (no more than one page, single
spaced) executive summary, describing the software and the contribution it has made to
research in political science. "Software" includes packages for
existing platforms such as R and Stata; it does not need to be a stand-alone program.

Source code should be openly available (e.g., on a VCS site like GitHub). Additional material may also be provided. This could include (but is not limited to) a tutorial, a pdf of the user manual, a Journal of Statistical Software article.

While our primary consideration is the research contribution of the software,
we will give preference to software which is relatively recent (past eight
years or so: this is not a strict cut-off date) and has
been developed at least in part by members of the Society
for Political Methodology.

The deadline for nominations is *May 15, 2018*. Self-nominations are
encouraged. Please email nominations to the committee chair: Adam Glynn
(firstname.lastname[at]emory[dot]edu).

Software Award Committee:
Adam Glynn (chair)
Sarah Bouchat
