*POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW IN STATISTICS/DATA SCIENCE, Brandeis University*

Duration: Two Years

Start Date: July 1, 2017 (flexible)

This is a Sloan Foundation-funded project led by Profs. Margie Lachman,
Minnie and Harold Fierman Professor of Psychology, and Adam Jaffe, Fred C.
Hecht Professor in Economics Emeritus. The goals of the project are to
create a new patents database of inventors with their demographic
information, and use it to analyse how the success of inventors varies with
age, including effects of age-heterogeneous collaboration. Fellow will
oversee creation and testing of the database, and statistical analyses,
under direction of the PIs. Expertise in statistical matching of data from
multiple sources, multiple imputation and statistical analysis with missing
and mis-measured data, experience with longitudinal data analyses, and
management and manipulation of large datasets are essential. Knowledge of
methods for ‘scraping’ large quantities of data from multiple internet
sites is highly desirable. PhD in statistics, social science with strong
statistics base, data analytics or related field. Inquiries may be directed
