0ptimus is an Analytics and Data consultancy based in Washington D.C. We
work for Republican/Conservative/Libertarian/Center-right candidates and
causes to bring quantitative rigor to their resource allocation process.

We currently have a 10-man shop, with backgrounds ranging from consultant
at Bain & Company, to Ph.D candidate in Political Methodology, to VP of
major tech company, to self-taught go getter. The common thread to all
our personnel is use of quantitative reasoning and analysis to improve the
decision making process (and thus outcomes) for our clients.

This analysis can range from back-of-the-envelope "does that idea make any
sense" calculations (of which we've done thousands of times) to full-blown
randomized controlled experiments (of which our personnel have executed
hundreds, across multiple states and race types). We also do stuff like
figuring out how to buy TV better (hint: Nielsen ratings are dated and not
focused on who you care about in elections) to figuring out how to get
cheaper/quicker/better opinion reads of segments of the electorate than is
currently available through traditional methods.

In short, we are helping campaigns guess less, and know more when they make
their decisions. In so doing, we get more positive outcome per dollar.

In this cycle, we are working with state-wide and above elections, though
have plans to work with clients in state-leg races. We tend to engage in
multi-month, full cycle engagements with our clients.

Due to the competitive nature of politics, we are flying a little low under
the radar right now, so you may not find a lot out there on us. We are
happy to provide more detail to those interested, as well as ultimately
pass on names of respected professors in your field who can tell you about
their experiences working with us.

Our #1 problem is not having enough talent to meet the needs of our current
and projected workload. We are looking for full-time applicants, who
ideally could live in Washington DC, and would not mind a bit of travel.
We are also looking for those individuals who could see working at the
firm through the end of 2016, should we like working with each other (don't
think of this as a one-year stop before job X).

drop a CV.
