EGAP 2010 Call for Members [Application Deadline 3 March 2010]

The Experiments in Governance and Politics Network (EGAP) is pleased to
announce a call for up to 12 new members.

*The group*: EGAP is a network of scholars and practitioners who are engaged
in the implementation or analysis of field and lab based experimental
research on questions related to governance and politics in international
development. The network is housed at the Center for Democracy, Development,
and the Rule of Law at Stanford, supported by the Hewlett foundations, and
includes over thirty members from twenty five universities and international
organizations.

*Meetings and Activities*: The network meets twice a year to discuss new and
ongoing research in this field. The first meeting was held in Yale in April
2009 (http://webdev.yale.edu/egap/<http://webdev.yale.edu/egap/participants.html>)
and the second in Columbia in October 2009 (
http://www.csds.columbia.edu/egap2009/ ). The next meeting will be held in
Trinity College Dublin in May 2010. This call for members is timed to allow
new members to participate in the Dublin meetings. Other activities include
establishing a peer review service for new experimental designs and a set of
standards and protocols for work in this field.

*Governance*: EGAP functions as a live network with membership depending on
participation in meetings. The network supports the participation of members
at these meetings and related activities. Administration of the network is
managed by a three person steering committee whose membership changes twice
a year. The steering committee will manage this application round on
instruction from the network.

*Application Process*: The application process is open to researchers and
practitioners who are engaged in the implementation, management, or analysis
of experimental research on issues related to the interests of the network
in the field of governance, politics, and international development.
Applicants from researchers and evaluation officers from international
organizations that are applying these methods to understand the effects of
their interventions are especially encouraged. To apply please register your
interest and describe your research interests here:
