The Department of Political Science at George Washington University will
search for five positions this year in American Politics, Methodology,
Comparative Politics, and International Relations. The methods position is
likely of most interest to the members of this list, but the ad for each
position can be found on the Department’s website (
http://www.gwu.edu/~psc/about/jobs.htm). The announcements for the five
positions are also listed below.

*Methodology*

The Department of Political Science invites applications from candidates for
a tenure-track position in Methodology. The Department is particularly
interested in scholars seeking an appointment at the assistant level, but
may be able to offer an appointment at the associate level to an exceptional
candidate. The search is open as to specialty, including quantitative
methods and/or formal theory. *Basic Qualifications:* Applicants must have
an active, theoretically-oriented research agenda as evidenced by working
papers or publications, and be able to teach graduate and undergraduate
courses. The Department expects applicants to have a strong substantive and
methodological training, as demonstrated by completed coursework, but has no
preferred methodological approach. ABDs will be considered but must
complete the PhD by August 1, 2012 to be appointed as an assistant
professor; otherwise, the initial appointment would be at the rank of
instructor with the understanding that the Ph.D. must be completed by May
31, 2013. *Application Procedure:* Submit electronically a letter of
application, curriculum vitae, at least three letters of recommendation, a
summary of teaching evaluations, and samples of written work TO:
