Greetings, all. I don't know if everyone's heard, but the deadline for
proposals to the Midwest meetings is coming soon.

I write to call your attention to the Information Technology and Politics
section, for which I would like to see not just IT->politics papers, but IT
-> political science papers. That is, I would like to encourage papers and
panels be submitted to the section on statistical computing, scripting for
automated data gathering / production / management, GIS, APIs/mashups,
automated content analysis, big data, data and model visualization, etc.

Also, don't think of this as either/or with methods. Gisela Sin,
coordinating the methods section, and I will try to put most of this sort of
thing together as co-sponsored panels to reach both of those audiences.

Thanks,
Burt
