Dear Colleagues:

We (Peri Schwartz-Shea and Dvora Yanow) are on the program at the
Midwest Political Science Association meeting to do an "informal
roundtable" on our research on Institutional Review Boards. Based on
our initial analysis, we argue that the standard IRB assessment process
for social science projects is poorly designed.

As we are trying to advance our thinking on this topic, we would like to
hear your own stories about your experiences with IRBs.

We invite you to stop by for conversation on the topic.

The paper title is "Reviewing Institutional Review Boards: Issues for
Field Research." The session is Thursday (4-12) at 4:25 p.m.

Should you wish to see our paper beforehand, we will be posting it on
the MPSA website:

<http://64.112.226.77/one/mpsa/mpsa07/index.php?cmd=mpsa07&id=> by April 5.

With best wishes,
Peri and Dvora
