Hi all,

The department of political science at Rice University is seeking to
hire in comparative politics this year at either the assistant or
associate level. As the ad below states, we have a (strong)
preference for scholars whose research employs statistical and/or
formal-theoretic analysis.

Best,
Lanny

The Department of Political Science at Rice University invites
applications for a tenured or tenure-track position in Comparative
Politics at the assistant professor or associate professor level,
pending administrative and budgetary approval. Regional specialization
is open, although in concert with university-wide initiatives at Rice
there is particular interest in candidates whose research focuses on
Asia or Latin America. Preference will be given to candidates with a
substantive focus on comparative institutions and whose research
employs advanced data analysis and/or formal models. Rice University
is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer and particularly
welcomes applications from minorities and women. The review of
applications will begin on October 1, 2008, but applications will be
accepted until the position is filled. Tenured faculty should send a
letter of application, curriculum vita and a list of references.
Others should send a letter of application, curriculum vita, writing
sample, and three letters of recommendation to: Comparative Politics
Search Committee, Department of Political Science, MS 24, Baker Hall
Rm. 200B, Rice University, 6100 Main St., Houston, TX 77005.
